Buenos Aires is getting ready for its most anticipated moment of the year. From August 20 to September 2, 2026, the city becomes the world capital of tango once again with the Tango BA Festival & World Championship, the most important celebration of the dance born on the Río de la Plata.
The Mundial is the most important tango competition on the planet: couples from more than 50 countries compete in Tango de Pista (Salon) and Tango Escenario (Stage), across a week of milongas, concerts and late nights that connect the tango community from all over the world.
The BA Festival has already lit the way with its preliminary competitions, milongas and concerts, and now comes the heart of the celebration: the World Championship.
