VIVIANA LAGUZZI: THE WOMAN WHO BROUGHT DESIGN TO TANGO
Influenced by her grandmother and driven by her own standards, she designed every garment she wore. With that same spirit, she created Mimi Pinzón and later Madreselva shoes—two brands dedicated to tango fashion that have not only succeeded in Argentina but also around the world.
When did you decide to create your own wardrobe to dance professionally?
I began my career as a classical dancer at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. There I graduated as a professional ballerina, and then life led me to tango stages.
At first, it was something I did to complement my career, until I eventually fell in love with tango and decided to fully dedicate myself to it with passion.
That’s how, for more than 18 years, I traveled the world with my partner Juan Corvalán, and we became one of the leading dance duos of the company Tango Pasión, as well as other major productions, including the renowned company of Maestro Mariano Mores. We were also invited on several occasions to perform on major television shows.
